Laufey is a twenty-four year old Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter as well as a classically trained cellist and pianist. She says that her music is inspired by her mother, who is a classical violinist, along with her father, who finds interest in jazz music. Through a mixture of these genres, Laufey took her passion and talent to the Berklee College of Music where she would begin her career as a solo artist. Since then, she has released two studio albums, four EPs, one live album, and twenty singles. As a classically trained artist, her songs are written in the style of jazz, but are also developed with a sense of intimacy that her audience can relate to.
