Interview with Mr. Gordon

Interview with Mr. Gordon

Emily Parke, Staff Writer

Where did you go to school and what did you study?

I went to college at Stonehill College in Easton Massachusetts. I majored in English and minored in Journalism. While I was there I also ran 4 years of track and cross country, and was in charge of the college radio station.

Why did you become a teacher?

I became a teacher completely by accident. When I graduated I was unsure of what I wanted to do, so I decided to apply for a program that would send me to India for a year to work in a small village school. I fell in love with teaching and decided that when I returned I would pursue it.

What is one of your best teaching experiences?

My best teaching experience has been working at Milford High School. This is a great community to start my teaching career.

Besides English class, what other classes or clubs are you involved in at the high school?

I am involved with the Joe B Band and will be coaching the Unified Track team in the spring.

What Hogwarts house do you belong to? Why?

I belong to Gryffindor because everyone knows that you can choose your house if you tell the sorting hat it is your preferred destination.

What song do you know all the lyrics to?

I know all the lyrics to “Sweet Virginia” by The Rolling Stones.

What is your dream vacation destination? Why?

My dream destination is Nepal because it is home to the Annapurna Circuit, which is a trek within the Annapurna mountain range of Nepal. It is 128 miles long and is considered the “holy grail” of treks. I’m planning to try it in 2019.

You are stranded on an island and you can pick one teacher to help you get off the island. Who do you pick and why?

I would pick Mr. Santomenna because if we couldn’t get off the island, at least we could play guitar together to pass the time.
