The original pop superstar: Meghan Trainor, rocked the stage at the XFinity Center in Mansfield, MA on September 20th.
While she took a break from the stage for 9 years, she came back with her “Timeless Tour” which features songs from her new album “Timeless” as well as her old, but never boring, major hits of the 2010s.
Trainor’s opener, Paul Russel, came out and hyped up the crowd with a multitude of classics and his own songs. One that got everyone jumping was Russel’s 2024 hit “Lil Boo Thang” which really set the hype tone that was to come.
Lights flashing, a “Crowded Room”, and one fantastic performer made an iconic entrance being on a podium up in the air. She wore a stunning, sparkly skirt with a matching shimmery, long sleeve shirt.
Trainor opened with “Mother” which was what vibe she was giving throughout the whole concert. Additionally, from her “Takin’ It Back” album she followed up with “Don’t I Make It Look Easy”. This is one of many songs Trainor released that can be related to average people about the struggles of everyday life.
Her “lips were movin” so much with her setlist being 27 songs long and a total of an hour and a half of breathtaking vocals and dancing.
If you were a big fan of the movie franchise “Spy Kids” much like me, then you’ll be happy to see that Trainor’s husband, Daryl Sabara or Juny Cartez made an appearance. She brought him out on stage and they were slow dancing in the moonlight.
This was Trainor’s 11th tour date being in her home state of MA. She grew up on the island of Nantucket, so it was a very special show having her in her element.
“The Timeless Tour” consists of 26 shows across the U.S. and even going to Toronto, Canada. While Paul Russel has been her main opener while on tour, Natasha Bedingfield has made an appearance a few times.
Of course she had to include the song that started her whole career, “All About That Bass”. Debuting on September 10, 2014 and staying on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks.
