This year’s Milford High School play is Clue! The plot takes place in the 1950’s, in an old house in New England. Six people are invited to this old house, and each guest is given a pseudonym. They are greeted by Wogsworth the Butler, who is played by Madeleine Frye (12th grade) and Ivette the Maid, who is played by Eve Gergis (11th grade). Each of these six guests are being blackmailed for various things they have done, but after they have arrived, people begin to get murdered. The guests now have to uncover who the murderer is before the police arrive. This particular interpretation is based off of the 1980’s movie Clue, which is then based off of the board game Clue. Although the characters are played very seriously, the movie is expected to be a comedy.
Apart from Wagsworth the Butler and Ivette the Maid, the other leads are the six guests who were invited to the house. Gianna Pasacane-Gallagher (11th grade) plays Mrs. White. Colonel Mustard is played by Owen Enright (11th grade), while Professor Plum will be played by Will Haley (11th grade). Ms. Scarlet and Mrs. Peacock are played by Mia Greeley (11th grade) and Catie Delaney (9th grade), respectively, and Mr. Green is played by Jack Ricca (12th grade). Show dates and times are December 9th at 2pm and 7pm and on December 10th at 3pm. Tickets will be $5 for students and $10 for adults.
Behind the scenes, Ms. Lando is the overall director of theater, but mainly focuses on cast. Ms. Travis and Ms. Smith are in charge of the crew. Madeleine Frye is also this year’s producer, and Giana Pasacane-Gallagher is the assistant producer. As for props and stage management, Nora Pavento (11th grade) is this year’s stage manager and paint mistress. These roles include being in charge of planning the sets, knowing what the backgrounds are, drawing sets, mixing paints, priming the flats to repaint, and putting them up on the stands.
In addition, Danica Crim (11th grade) is Assistant Manager and the Head of Props. This mostly consists of working on the props and helping out Nora with the roles previously noted. Kendall Dexter (12th grade) is the Head of Lights, and works on the lightboard and oversees the spotlights during the show. Benjamin Maddock (12th grade) is the Head of Sound, working on the microboards, managing people in the back, and coming up with sounds for the show. Overall, it appears that there is a great cast and backstage crew for this year’s production!
